"The Streets of Ubud" by Freddie "Captain Freddie" Elizalde is an exhibition of illustrations and book launch that aims to show the splendor and inspiration of Ubud.  Original illustrations done in flowing and detailed ink that pay homage to the beauty of Bali from the "Bud" Magazine will be exhibited.

A book of the same name "The Streets of Ubud" will be showcased.  The bilingual English and Indonesian picture book is a story about the energy of life in water and the stream of creativity prevalent in Bali.  Sadly overpopulation and pollution are leading the island to waste, unless its inhabitants take steps to preserve it.

The artist, Freddie Elizalde aka Captain Freddie, is a Spanish-Filipino illustrator/writer living in Ubud.  He creates illustrations for the Ubud "Bud" Magazine, and has column in the Magic Wave Surf Magazine.  He has recently created a children's picture book called "Teman Hutan" Friend of the Forest, for the Sumatran Orangutan Society. The bilingual English and Bahasa Indonesian book was just launched at this years Ubud Writers and Readers Festival.  Several sponsors, including the United States Fish and Wildlife Service have funded the printing of 12,000 copies of the book to be distributed for free throughout Sumatra to promote awareness for the Sumatran Orangutan.
